It is five years after Season one. All the 'heroes' have gotten together and the Petrellis have started a school especially for Specials. This way the 'rents can all keep an eye on their kids and be sure of their safety at all times. Many of the actual teachers themselves have powers though of course this is a secret from the main administration. If it ever got out that Nathan Petrelli, Principal, believed himself to have 'powers'...well it'd be safe to say that the nice men in white coats would be coming to take him away.
As an extra precaution there are normal humans also attending the Academy, which might not be the healthiest idea around considering their turbulent age of their lives; its just asking for trouble. All these kids, some of them with huge overblown egos for knowing that they're that extra little bit Special, cooped up together in a boarding school.
Let the games begin.
However, their normal not angst teens aren't the main worry at this school; not anymore anyway. An increasing worry that has seemed to affect everyone, with the depression even seeping into the very atmosphere itself so that everyone is on edge - for the reason that students one by one go missing. Rumors say that they are being picked off one by one; drugged and dragged off into some sort of lab. Students are waking to find themselves in a cold gray cell, one of many; the doors are barred. They peer through the thick window to see faces of their classmates, all locked up as well. But these are dismissed by the professors as mere kids talk, only to be expected in these upsetting times.
Not all of these kids are good, not everyone with a power is a 'hero'. Some of the people with a little darker intentions in mind have started actively bullying other students with absolutely no qualms in using their powers to get what they want, whatever they want. The school is slowly but surely being divided into two with those who only want what's best for the school and those who are only too happy to see their rivals disappear off the face of the earth so that they can rule the quaking remains.
But back to the missing students.
Who's running the lab, is a mystery. What their purpose might be, nobody knows. All of these 'heroes' have only thing on their mind which is escaping; but its more than that. The general public finding out about their secret could be at stake, the very foundations of their life rocked to the core as locked in these cells together they find out more about each other than they ever wanted with some startling home truths. What's a hero to do when their fortress goes crumbling?
